PUBG Update 41.1 has just landed, and there are plenty of new features on the menu. We've been playing it quite a bit with the crew lately, and I can tell you that this update (deployed on April 8 for PC and April 16 for consoles) isn't here to play around. Between the arrival of a 4-player cooperative PvE mode, a collaboration with Stellar Blade that’s bound to make wallets sweat, and massive terrain destruction, Krafton has decided not to let us catch our breath.
XENO POINT : The Looter-Shooter Enters the BR
A Futuristic PUBG, Really ?
This is THE big surprise of this patch. We knew PUBG as nervous and tactical ; now we discover a futuristic PUBG. Xeno Point is a standalone PvE mode (somewhat like an extraction shooter crossed with a looter-shooter) where you'll have to repel an alien invasion on Miramar.
- A 4-player hub, a skill tree to progress through, and equipment crafting are on the agenda.
- In terms of loot, say goodbye to monotony : weapons and attachments now come with rarity levels. You go on a mission, blast spider-bots and xeno-humanoids, and extract with the gear.
- Verdict : It’s refreshing. It offers a real break between two tense ranked matches.
💾 A PvE mode in PUBG... who would have thought back in 2017 ? Back then, the game was supposed to be just a Battle Royale, quick and simple. Times change, and honestly, not always in a bad way.
ERANGEL GETS FRAGILE (FINALLY !)
Destructible Terrain Changes the Tactical Game
It was announced in the roadmap, and now it’s concrete : destructible terrain arrives on Erangel. Now, with a Panzerfaust, C4, or even a simple pickaxe (a new essential tool), you can dig your own trench or, conversely, remove the cover of a camping enemy. The terrain becomes a shifting tactical element, and this applies to Competitive play as well.
Will this have a real influence on the meta ? Not necessarily. But it will definitely be fun to be able to dig yourself a little hideout.
ARSENAL : Goodbye DP-28, Hello Hybrid Scope
The Great Spring Cleaning of Weapons
Krafton is doing some spring cleaning, and it’s going to sting. To "sanitize" the weapon pool, several of them will be removed in June (Update 42.1). Enjoy them one last time because the Mosin Nagant, the DP-28, the PP-19 Bizon, and the P1911 will disappear from the circuit.
In return, we get two new toys that will seriously change how you build your loadout :
- The Hybrid Scope : The best of both worlds. Switch instantly between 1x and 4x magnification. It’s ultra-versatile and finally solves the problem of varying range engagements.
- The Incline Grip : It replaces the angled grip (removed) and offers a massive boost to vertical recoil control (+12 %) and especially camera stability (+25 %). A true delight for those who like to spray cleanly.
💡 Loadout Tip : With the removal of the Angled Grip, consider switching now to the Incline Grip on your assault rifles. The +25 % camera stability gain is particularly noticeable on high-recoil rifles like the AKM or Beryl M762.
STELLAR BLADE COLLABORATION : EVE ARRIVES
The Unexpected Crossover of 2026
This is the unexpected crossover of 2026. The heroine of Stellar Blade, EVE, is arriving on the battlefields. We're not just talking about a simple skin, but the first "Ultimate Contender". Her appearance and hair color evolve as she levels up. It's stylish, clean, and brings an unprecedented level of customization to the Workshop. Expect to see a lot of blades on the servers in the coming days.
We're not just talking about a skin. EVE is the first "Ultimate Contender" in PUBG : her look evolves with your level. A dynamic customization never seen before in the game.
WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULDN'T MISS
Small Changes That Make a Big Difference
Aside from the headlines, this patch brings several mechanics that will quietly change your gameplay habits :
- Emergency Flare : A new item to place on the ground to request an express supply drop. Ideal for recovering in the middle of the zone.
- Jammer Pack (Levels 1 to 3) : The anti-blue zone backpack is now available in three levels. Level 3 is a true armor against external damage.
- Blue Chip Tower : You can now consume 2 enemy chips to request a supply crate. A good way to taunt the opposing team and provoke interesting new fights.
🕹️ If you love patches that shake up the meta, Update 41.1 isn't the only one to watch right now. The latest Sea of Thieves patch just completely redefined its PvP with Season 19. And if you're more into RTS, don't miss our article on the next Age of Empires IV DLC and the Jin civilization arrival.
CONCLUSION : KRAFTON STEPS ON THE GAS
Update 41.1 is clearly one of the most ambitious in recent seasons. Between the Xeno Point mode that dares to push PUBG out of its Battle Royale comfort zone, destructible terrain that finally alters Erangel's geography, and genuinely useful attachment additions like the Hybrid Scope, Krafton shows it still has ideas to evolve its flagship title. As for the Stellar Blade collab, it will mostly be the talk of the wallets.
